My new boss wanted to take me to lunch, so needless to say I didn't eat much of what I brought today. I did drink a liter of water and an energy drink. We went to Willow Restaurant for lunch where I had half a veggie sandwich (sauteed spinach and mushrooms, caramelized onion, roasted red pepper and smoked cheddar on toasted focaccia bread) and a cup of mushroom bisque. Definitely more exciting that what I'd stuck in my lunch bag, though not nearly as healthy.
I got home this evening and after telling D about my day, the next topic of discussion was what we were having for dinner. First, I was not all that hungry to begin with. Second, cooking is not on my list of "favorite things to do", but I do it occasionally because 1.) I need to eat and 2.) I once heard an old wives tale that the way into a man's heart is through his stomach. Fortunately for me, I haven't made D sick yet so I think I'm on the right track. So, since neither one of us really felt like cooking, dinner consisted of steamed green beans with Parmesan cheese (a personal favorite) and a bit of couscous. I realize that doesn't sound nearly as enticing as the other items I've consumed in the past few days, but it's easy and it beats eating an entire pizza for dinner.
If you hadn't figured it out yet, I didn't make it to the gym today. Tomorrow, I promise!
