Introduction

In an attempt to document my eating habits, I have created this blog. The goal is to share with the world what I am consuming, what I'd like to be consuming and how (or, if) I'm counteracting the calories I've subjected my body to.

A little background info:
I am 26 years old and have recently moved back to Northern Virginia after a two-year stretch in St. Augustine, Florida. For as long as I can remember, I have had what I classify as an eating disorder. While I'm unsure whether or not this particular eating disorder actually has a name, I am hungry almost all the time. If I'm not hungry, I will eat anyway in an attempt to satisfy any and all cravings I may have at some point in the future. I can't help myself.

Over the past year, I managed to gain control over my eating habits. I gave up a lot of the high calorie, high fat foods that I love, switched to a more healthy (but not perfect) diet and started running 2-4 miles a day. Let's face it, I'm not getting any younger and my metabolism isn't going to keep me in a size 4 unless I'm burning what I'm putting in my mouth. Are the cravings still there? Yes. Did I want macaroni and cheese with bacon for breakfast this morning? Absolutely.

Welcome to my life.

  1. Dear Courtney,

I too feel unfulfilled by soley consuming three square meals a day. I commend you for taking life by the fork and speaking out on this social stigma. This blog is a trailblazer, I'm itching in anticipation for post two.

    Yours Truly,
