A while back, D told me he was running in the American Odyssey Relay with a few of his co-workers. I was a little disappointed when I found out I wasn't able to be on his team, but I found out last week that one of his teammates is pregnant, which means I get to participate! I'd been running at our gym prior to being invited but now I have an even bigger incentive to push myself. If only I could stop eating...
You see, I try to eat the right foods but sometimes I cave when it comes to quantity. Today, I was starving when I got to work, so as supplement to my usual breakfast of Greek yogurt and fruit, I ate an egg white and roasted veggie breakfast burrito. That was at 9AM. By 11:00AM, I was beginning to get anxious for a lunch meeting at a yummy Thai restaurant a few blocks from work. I hesitated to order an appetizer with lunch and opted for pad Thai. Once my plate was delivered, I felt an overwhelming wave of disappointment because I knew there wasn't enough food on the plate to satisfy my hunger. On the walk back to the office, I was really tempted to pop into Chipotle for a burrito, but I decided against for fear my co-workers would pass judgement.
Once I got back to work, I ate a banana... Then I wandered over to someone else's desk and started picking through their candy dish (I hate those things, by the way)... Then I was convinced to walk across the street to check out the pastry shop... And I ended up with three beautiful and delicious macaroons.
And I haven't even had dinner yet. The end.
