Blue Crab Lovin'

I had an amazingly delicious weekend indulging (and over-eating) one of my most favorite things ever -- blue crabs. And not just blue crabs, but the consumed in the tradition my family has established, otherwise known as the Crab Cracker. Sure, some people think eating blue crabs is a wasted effort but I completely disagree. Not only could I spend hours picking the meat out of crabs, I will also argue the time is well spent.

To prepare the infamous crab cracker, you'll need plenty of saltine crackers, Duke's mayonnaise (no other mayo can compare), salt, pepper and Old Bay (optional). Spread a generous amount of mayo on the cracker, pile the crab meat on and sprinkle your desired seasonings on top. Then stick one of those little morsels in your mouth and chew on it. Let me know what you think.

Not only did I enjoy close to a half a bushel of crabs over the weekend (roughly 40 crabs for novices), I was also fortunate enough to have my Dad dote on me a bit and make me breakfast each morning -- fried prosciutto, spinach, tomatoes and a sunny-side up egg, sprinkled with Parmesan on garlic french bread. Jealous?
