I've decided to challenge myself to lose 9lbs for two reasons. One, to see how accurate this tool is and two, to see if I can actually control my desires to eat high calorie, delicious food. For the record, I am totally comfortable at my current weight and size, but love a good challenge and this should motivate me to at least run more. I mentioned this to one of my girlfriends and she laughed at me for attempting this right before the holidays.
Here's a snapshot of today:
To be fair, I did actually go for a run. Mind you it wasn't a very long run, 25 minutes to be exact, but I consider it to be a decent effort considering I haven't done any cardio in almost four weeks. According to my Nike+ (which I love and adore), I burned about 248 calories. I'm still -136 calories for the day, but the pad thai was worth it!
Some of you may be wondering what I ate over the weekend. I'll give you a quick run down...
Friday:
- four cups of coffee
- a whopping 40oz of Red Bull, total
- Lean Cuisine butternut squash ravioli, which was surprisingly good
- three large spoonfuls of Nutella
- calamari
- a small field greens salad
- romanelli alla vodka (romanelli pasta stuffed with fontina, ricotta and Parmesan cheese topped with tomato vodka cream sauce, prosciutto and large shrimp)
Saturday
- four or five cups of coffee
- a 12oz Red Bull
- turkey, brie, apple and spinach wrap
- blackened tuna nachos
- a few freshly shucked oysters topped and broiled with bacon, spinach, parmesan cheese and a hint of sambuca
- one and a half of The Fresh Market's gourmet bacon and cheddar burgers
- a generous portion of The Fresh Market's lobster macaroni and cheese
- orzo with basil and tomatoes
- lo mein noodles (or something very similar)
- grilled veggies
- s'mores
- Yes, I actually ate all of that. And yes, it was delicious.
Sunday
- Four cups of coffee
- three slices of spinach pizza, with mozzarella, fontina, parmesan and roasted garlic
- two pieces of peanut butter toast
Now do you understand how trying to lose 9lbs is going to be tough?
